Now that older buyers are getting comfortable with using the internet, they crave information and high quality media. We host over 10,000 websites in 17 states and have noticed a common trend. The agents who offer high quailty photos and virtual tours in combination with helpful community information achieve web visit durations of up to 8 minutes per visitor. Since the average real estate web site has a customer visit duration of less than 30 seconds, this is quite impressive and promotes agent and company branding. Since inventories are high and prospects have dropped, don't take the chance of not providing great media and info to your web visitors. Let's face it, prospects do not need a real estate agent to find MLS listings. The number of public MLS sites are growing daily. Give them a reason to choose you.

Stuart,

It is true that quality photos and access to local information make for the best consumer experience.

The other necessary parts of an effective RE on line marketing program are effective aggregation of the listings on the web to draw traffic, web exports to the leading sites for ease of Realtor use and statistical tracking down to the individual room level of the listing so the performance of the plan can be measured.

What is your stated marketing program?

Blog on,

Steve

I have a client that looks at my site on a daily basis. I have it set up for him so he can also look for homes. They getr frustrated when there is a new listing that has 1 photo. It makes them think that there is something wrong with the house. I tell them it is most likely a lazy agent. As cheap as you can buy a good digital camera there is no reason not to have as many photos as the MLS will allow

All clients are happy to see virtual tours.  It gives them a much better feel for the house than just a single picture.

Stuart- Great first post! Welcome to ActiveRain.

Steve - I agree with you 100% about getting exposure for your listings.  We  are working with Stuart on software to add syndication to the virtual tours to maximize exposure.
