I recently attended a very informative and timely seminar, organized by The Global Busiiness Council, a NEFAR organizaation which I am extrememly happy to be a member of - a well run, insightful and very relevant group dedicated to pursuing international real estate and related businesses in connection with Northeast Florida(to include St Augustine, of course!). Many of us in the business believe Northeast Florida should also be primed and ready for an influx and increase in international real estate business. Eventually, the buyersi and investors are bound to move up north where real estate is already experiencing a mini-boom as its attractiveness and advantaages become more and more evident to the savy buyer.
The first speaker was Dwin Horne, CPA,Ennis Pelum and Assoc,. He reviewed the W-8 form and issues such as ownership, sales and rental of real estate by foreign nationals
He was followed by Rebecca Black who spoke on immigration and visas,
Kelly Cutchin, Money Corp: financial issues
Eddie Hilliard - Financing for non-resident foreign buyers. All of the speakers were highly interesting and well-informed on their subjects. It seems there is much to learn and much territory to be navigated in the world of international real estate, but believe me, it is worth learning about. Let's don't miss! the boat
