How's Life Under That Rock? Or Do You Use Electronic Signatures?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with ActiveRain

Get productive! There aren't many industries as a whole that use more paper than real estate. It would seem that electronic signatures were tailor made for the real estate industry.

It's 2013 and my guess is that many of you are using electronic signatures in your business. But which company should you be using? Maybe you've tried it out and it never stuck, but you're thinking about giving it another shot. Maybe you use an electronic signature company that has been the best thing to happen to your business since they got rid of the MLS book.

Whatever your story is, we'd love you to share it with the other members of ActiveRain. Don't do it because you get 50 points for every review that you leave, do it because every day some real estate professional is trying to decide what tools to add to their business and the Product Reviews section of ActiveRain gives them honest feedback from their peers (that's you!)

Tell Us About It

The next Product Review newsletter will focus on Electronic Signatures. We'd love if you would jump in and review the product you are currently using. Let your peers know how much easier their life will be if they'd just start using XYZ electronic signature company.

In order to review a product, click on the product below. As much as I'd love you to comment on this post with your experience, I'd love it even more if you'd click over the product review page for the electronic signature company you are using and share your experience there.

Not using one of these products? Maybe you use Hellofax/Hellosign? Or Possibly GoPaperless? Or Maybe even E-Signature?

Do You Use Something Else?

Those are the six electronic signature companies that you can currently leave a review for. But if you'd like to add the company that you use and brag all about them, you add a new company or product to be reviewed by going here.

I use sign pdf and advise any of my clients that have an ipad or iphone to upload that app because they will need it through the transaction.. It's not an electronic signature like docusign... It's an actual signature that they just use their finger to sign on their screen, then size and place as needed.. Don't have to worry if it's acceptable to the banks or not.

It's the hardest when the client does not even have a computer. I wish everything was electronic but we are still far with everyone, even though they can borrow an agent's computing platform.

You forgot about Authentisign from instanet forms. That's who I use and I could not live without digital signatures. saves me a fortune in time and gas plus they are much more secure.

I use Authentisign, as well. My company partners with them and so does MRIS, our regional multiple listing service. 'Love this new way of doing business!

Brokers can do themselves a favor and get rid of their faxes. Never going to happen, but I can dream.

I also use Authentisign and Transaction Desk.  Our MLS is giving us special training to further our use of these products.  Great stuff!  I also did a product review of Scansnap.  Did I get points for that?

I left a testimonial for DocuSign as it is the best thing to benefit real estate since the fax machine.

Kerrie:  You asked... "How's life under that rock?"  Well... I like my rock.  And since I am "under" that rock, it's pretty strong for when those doggone hail storms hit here in Fort Worth.

It's all nicely decorated here... under my rock.  I got cable, I got internet, and cuz it IS under this rock, I don't need much A/C during the summer.  Rock On!

Have a great weekend.  Maybe you and friends could go out and celebrate the passage of the VAWA... Violence Against Women Act.  The "inclusive" version passed today.  Yayyy!

I used Dot Loop for almost two years and while it has a lot of features to store EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about the loop, it was a bit cumbersome when you just wanted a stinking signature.  If the name in your database isn't EXACTLY as what is going to be on title (and it usually isn't, it can take 24-48 hours for the update to take place.  Kinda self defeats the purpose of electronic signing.  There is a work around to it, you have to call customer service.  Once you do get in and start a loop, it wants all the information about the transaction (mortgage, inspector, title.....) so you have to bypass that just so you can try to get an accepted offer.

I'm now using DocuSign.  Just signed up for it and it is SO INCREDIBLY EASY to use!  What a HUGE Difference!  The comments from my clients are wonderful, so easy to use.  Quite the contrary from Dot Loop.

Being a KW agent, we have DotLoop as an electronic signature partner. I remember the time when there the name was not spelled correct in my eEdge - and had to call DotLoop support, they resolved it in few minutes - but what if that had happened after-hours?

Nonetheless, they have improved a lot over last couple of years and I'd say, I cannot live without eSign - irrespective of the company I use (FormSimplicity before DotLoop and occasionally, DocuSign, too.)

when i have a request from the agent/broker: no electronic signatures'~ I always roll my eyes....Yet, i usually understand well, that most older people would not use computer at all. It is always a lot of printing ......and driving:) But it is ok.

Hi Kerrie.  I did 1 review (but I don't think I got points for it).  I have 2 more that I plan to do soon.  I can't really participate in this category, though.

I've used electronic signatures on leases and management agreements for years....well worth the trouble to set up and great when time is critical to get homes prepped for occupancy...then I save executed forms to my Google Drive

I used docusign for he first time in February of this year.  I was surprised I went through the process successfully with no training. Of course it will be easier next time.  And, no I do not read assembly instructions either!

Can't live with out docusign. I don't know how we functioned in the crazy 04-05 market with esignature....I guess gas was cheaper :-).
