When you want a SOLD sign, STAGE IT! What is home staging? First of all, home staging is NOT decorating. Decorating is personal. Decorating is all about personal taste, Here in Texas, many homeowners have the heads of dead animals attached to the walls and proud of it! A dead animal head on the wall is decorating but is never STAGING. Second, home staging is not leftover furniture that the homeowner does not want to move. Staging is not about furniture. Staging is about creating an appealing room and space to create emotional impact. Old outdated furniture in a room is not staging. Third, staging is not a do-it-yourself project. It is possible to stage yourself, but like trying to cut one's own hair, it probably will look like you did it yourself. A professional hair dresser is going to have a much better perspective of your hair and likewise, a professional home stager will have a better perspective on how to show your home to appeal to buyers. Home staging is about using good design elements of decorating, space planning, furniture arranging, art and decor placement, lighting, and creating a sense of lifestyle to appeal to a targeted buyer market. Home staging is about the use of furniture placement and decor color and selection to update the look of a space. Home staging like cutting hair is a skill that requires an artistic flair and home staging is best left to being completed by an accredited staging professional. When you want a SOLD sign, STAGE IT! For more information about how to stage your home, call an Accredited Staging Professional like myself.
