The Burton US Open is off to a powerful start with the women throwing down hard out-of-the-gate!

Spencer O'Brien graced us with her presence today all the way from Canada. She led the ladies with a killer run that included a frontside boardslide, wallride to gap to frontside lipslide, 50-50 frontside 180 out, switch backside 180 mute grab, and a front slide 360 to backside 540 indy grab.

Jamie Anderson (USA) wasn't far behind O'Brien, while Brooke Voight (CAN) came in 3rd completing the Canadian / US sandwich.

O'Brien is a 24yr old, Canadian Native. When she's not riding regular on her snowboard, she's getting goofy in the kitchen. You can even catch her on an episode of the Food Network's Dinner: Impossible! Aside from cooking, O'Brien also enjoys hiking, fashion and hanging out with friends.

She won the first TTR World Snowboarding Championships Slopestyle last year, is a Women's Slopestyle Dew Cup 2x Winner, on top of her 3 Winter X Games medals.

Keep an eye out Friday for O'Brien's aggressively smooth style, always a blast to watch!

Big thanks to the 21 women from 11 different countries that threw down today. Only six advanced and we look forward to watching those shredding betties battle it out Friday (1:30-2:30pm).
