According to an article in the Wall Street Journal "Using smell to make a sale", it would appear that the custom of baking cookies for an open house might be a waste of time.
The researcher suggests that complex smells like baked goods or potpourri might be distracting to potential buyers because they will mentally try to process what they are smelling.
While we don't normally use potpourri, the thought of not offering fresh baked cookies in our model home is out of the question!
Do the cookies sell our homes? No, but our visitors truly enjoy them so we will continue to offer what they like. That being said, why not stop by for a cookie and while you are here you might as well tour our Fresco and Poritco homes at The Pinehills. We know the real reason you are here!
If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an appointment to tour Greengate, The Greens or Rebecca's Landing, please give us a call - 508-209-5000.
