Today there are 24 homes for sale in Tech Terrace and I have enjoyed touring many of them. If you really want to be close to TTU or Covenant, Tech Terrace may be the place you want to call home.
This neighborhood touts two parks, two schools, and two churches. Cafe J's is a popular eatery located on the North edge of Tech Terrace, just across the street from Texas Tech University. At 26th and Boston there is a favorite coffee shop, retail establishments and a remodeled neighborhood Lowe's grocery store. Another calling card of the area is the mature landscaping (I'm talking TREES) and a great variety of architectural styles. While there is the occasional newer home in Tech Terrace, the neighborhood features primarily homes built from 1928 through 1960. There are some real mid-century modern gems.
Some Tech Terrace purists identify the area as Flint to Indiana and 19th to 25th Streets but most Lubbock folks consider 19th to 34th Streets and University to Indiana Avenues to be the boundaries.
Texas Tech professors, staff and students often buy in this area so convenient to campus. Ditto medical personnel who work at nearby Covenant Hospital and the many medical offices in the area. But many Lubbockites call Tech Terrace home just because they love the area and the character and charm of older homes.
