Last week we had a planned power outage. I guess every now and then we all need to test the system and recharge, or reset something – Con-Ed it seems is no different. I never really thought about how may clocks we have around us: Mantel, Wall clocks(4), Stove, Microwave, Oven, Intercom, Watches, Cell Phones, Desktop(2), Laptops(3), iPod, iPad, alarm clocks (3),watches(4).. cars(2)…..WOW!
During the fall back/ spring forward I don’t think the clock-count has such an impact, because that Saturday (the next one is 2am March 10, 2013) if we just happen to be in the room, before we leave it, we set the clock to season, at a leisurely pace. But with the off-season clock changing activity caused by the power outage, I found out that all clocks do not treat a power outage in the same way.
Some clocks we needed to manually adjust and we did (mantel, wall, kitchen, microwave, oven, etc)
Some clocks we need to manually adjust, but we never actually look at those, and will change those in the Spring. (please do not judge, you have those too.)
Other clocks either were not affected or they auto-reset like my husband’s alarm clock. But my alarm clock, my clock, the one I use daily, only looked like it kept the time. Really, I think that is why I bought the clock. I bought it a few years ago during the rolling-summer-season outages. And when I looked at the clock, it looked like it was fine…but … as I woke with a jolt, having slept in on a weekday… the clock kept the time… 12 hours later AND it reset to 2005. For those that are curious, what I thought was a Tuesday in 2013, the clock thought it was actually a Saturday in 2005!
What does this have to do with Real Estate in the Santa Clarita Valley?
Clocks help measure time, schedule tasks, and track a pattern of activity and thoughts. I think a person makes thousands of decisions about food each day. I wonder, how many times do you think about Real Estate in a day? Do you think of being a property owner, real estate investor? Or are you thinking about some concerns you may have to pay your mortgage, or if one of the programs in 2013 will help you? When you have these questions and have some time, give me a call, send me a text or email. Let’s take the time together to help you with your real estate needs. Call Today 661-309-3195.
