Celebrating Reading Across America at Kimball School in National City

As you know last Friday, March 1st, 2013 was Read Across America Day, a national day celebrating reading.  I had the honor to be invited to join in the celebration at Kimball School in National City and and to be a guest reader for 24 children in one classroom.

I loved the experience!  These children were so attentive and I had the opportunity to engage the little students in the story.  I was able to make it interactive.  When I was done, I realized that I want to do this again, and again!

It was a wonderful, enriching, and satisfying experience for me.  It encouraged me to be more involved in local schools in my community and contribute positively helping these kids fall in love with reading!

Reading Across America 2013 was sponsored by the National Education Association, California Teachers Association, along with leading national literacy and youth groups.
