Chocolate Chip Cookies Do Make A Difference

I like to know what is happening in the Kentlands real estate market.  On Sunday afternoon, I attended two open houses in the community.  One of the open houses had more traffic and was very distinctive.  RE/MAX agent Johnice Comer has a special marketing technique at open houses.

Johnice bakes chocolate chip cookies at her open houses.  When you enter the home the aroma of chocolate chip cookies creates an immediate positive response.  The cookies are served in the kitchen which serves as the location to get to know the prospects. Her sign in sheets and home information sheets are in the kitchen.

It is okay for you to copy this idea.  For a more positive response from open house prospects, bake and serve chocolate chip cookies. It works!

Johnice Comer is one of the outstanding agents in our market and we wish her well for continued success.  By the way, Johnice will be holding a broker open house with a selection of tasty desserts.  She knows that real estate professionals enjoy sweet treats.

Roy,  I have used the chocolate chip cookie idea in the past.  I have found that sometimes the visitors are a little shy about taking a cookie.  Of course, treats on broker tour always go like 'hotcakes'!  I say that we should use whatever works!

Good morning, Roy.  We used to bake chocolate chip cookies at open houses (& always had some made ahead of time) 5 or 6 years ago.  We stopped doing it, because clients at the time did not like the smell of cookies.  They wanted to use Fabreeze (no smell).  I think that was a sign of the times.

Thanks for stopping by.  Johnice is holding a broker open today and will be offering several trays of desserts to the attending agents.  We have a beautiful sunny day in Kentlands and she should have a crowd.  Tuesday is the regular day for broker open houses in the area.

Roy,  What a great idea.  No one can resist a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie.  Maybe Will should start this practice.  I could get him an apron.

Good Morning Roy,

There is nothing like the smell of cookies to remind one of "home".  Great way to use all the senses to captivate a buyer.

Roy, when I do an open house I usually serve cookies and water/sodas.  But, to actually bake the cookies in the home and have the aroma....great idea!  Thanks Johnice.
