How To Format Pictures On Active Rain: Agents Helping Agents

By
Real Estate Technology with Home Value Leads

Dick Greenberg is hosting a contest called "Sensei/Grasshopper Is Back" for his Sensei/Grasshopper group. If you haven't heard of this group or contest, make sure to check them out.

The concept is phenomenal. Agents helping Agents. Each of us has different strong suits and each of us has weaknesses. For me, my strengths in addition to real estate come in internet marketing, website design, and SEO. I generate almost 100% of my new leads through the internet. I'm working on expanding my horizons and generating more leads in other ways, but for now the internet is my home. Because of this, I am always willing to help our another agent when it comes to technology, because I find technology FUN. (I know, stop groaning) I also will be keeping an eye on the Sensei group for assistance, ideas, and best practices for generating leads from off-line sources.

I received an email from Simone Bercu, a fellow Keller Williams agent, asking about how to properly format pictures on Active Rain. There are a lot of options to play with and if you follow the new blog section, you know that there are a lot of people who do NOT properly format their pictures. The easiest way to explain how to format pictures on Active Rain is to walk you through it step by step. Remember, I'm a technology guy, so no bullet points and no power point presentation. Let's go to the VIDEO!

(Simone - my apologies up front if I mispronounced your name in the video)

If you have any questions about anything related to technology or websites, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll do my best to answer your question if I can. (The Sensei/Grasshopper contest is limited to one entry, but I never limit myself on helping others as long as it is reasonable and I have time!)

Brian: Good video tutorial!  I am surprised by the number of Rainers who do not take advantage of the SEO benefits with photos and the opportunity to get a link back to one of their main sites.

Anita: Some people are doing a good job just to be blogging. SEO comes after they get comfortable with the blogging portion, but if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right... right?

Larry: Yes, I did that intro as well.

Hannah: That's what it was designed for - basic formatting. There are a lot of ways to format images, but I figured basic was best at this point.

Ryan: I'm playing with Facebook right now, utilizing my business page and trying to get people engaged. It is hard work and requires even more consistency than blogging does!

Norman: Your very welcome. I hope it helps you.

Debbie: Absolutely can be of use to anyone. That's why instead of just explaining it in an email, I figured I'd walk through it step by step in video format so that people could see exactly what it looked like.

Fred: Thanks! A little SEO can go a long way... The images on my website are some of my best ranking content (not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. lol)

Charles: I'm glad you liked it.

Videos are where it is going... I strongly believe that. If you think Google likes blogs, you should see how they rank videos uploaded to YouTube. Much easier to rank for a video than a blog post. My next step is to do neighborhood videos. I just need to figure out the format I want to use. Slideshow of photos or live on location... maybe slideshow until I can do the live ones.
