Downtown Colorado Springs has a lot of great restaurants. However, some restaurants seem to keep drawing me back over and over again - for various reasons. We are eight weeks into 2013. Each of the following restaurants is so good that I have already eaten there at least twice this year and am looking forward to my next visit. They are all easy to find.

The Famous – A Steak House is my favorite fine dining restaurant in Colorado Springs. Their service and food are exceptional. The atmosphere seems to encourage you to relax, sit back and enjoy a long wonderful meal.
Each time I go, I find myself hoping to find the steak and lobster as the “special.” Back in January, they had a steak and lobster special for $49. The special included an appetizer, salad, the steak and lobster plus a desert for $49. It was amazing. Their wine is amazing. Their deserts are amazing and generous in proportion. Piano music plays softly in the background adding to the ambiance. Did I mention the exceptional service? The Famous – A Steak House sets the standard for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
Luigi’s Homemade Italian –
947 S Tejon, Colorado Springs
Yum, yum, yum. Every time I have been to Luigi’s they have been packed. Yet the place is comfortable and cozy. Red checkered table clothes, the fire place in the background and the décor makes Luigi’s feel very down home Italian. The food is GREAT. The service isn’t quite at the same level as The Famous' but it is good.
222 N Tejon, Colorado Springs
Alright, Jose Muldoon’s is a completely different class than The Famous and Luigi’s. Yet coming from Texas – there is no way that Jose Mudoon’s could not be on my list. If you enjoy Tex-Mex Mexican food, Jose Muldoons' is the place to go. I've eaten at Jose Muldoon's more times than any of the other restaurants because Tex Mex is a staple of my diet. Not sure how else to describe it. Their chips and salsa are very enjoyable. Margaritas are a specialty. The waitresses are nice. My favorite dish at Jose Muldoon’s is their buffalo fajitas.
Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub and Restaurant
21 South Tejon, Colorado Springs
719-385-0766
Jack Quinn’s is the home to good ole’ Irish food, a nice Irish atmosphere and a phenomenal running club. I like the fish and chips the best. My friends love the food and beer. I like the Jack Quinns' Running Club the best. It is unlike anything that I've ever been involved with before. A list of favorite restaurants wouldn't be complete without Jack Quinns.
In conclusion, if you are in Colorado Springs - be sure to visit one or more of these great restaurants.
Sincerely,
Sondra Meyer, CPA
