Black Canyon Fly Fishing Show 2013...Montrose, CO. This is a show that even non fishing people look forward to. There is so much to do and see. The fly tying exhibits alone will leave you wondering how they do that. If you've just started fly fishing and want to learn more, or whether you consider yourself a local expert, this is the place to be.

Black Canyon Fly Fishing Show 2013...Montrose, CO 

Every year the Gunnison Gorge Anglers help sponsor the Black Canyon Fly Fising Show. Area enthusiasts get together to display their talents and passion for fly fishing. This all happens at Friendship Hall on the Montrose County Fairgrounds, March 9th. The show starts at 9am and lasts until 4pm. The first 100 kids under 16 years old will get a free T shirt.

Renowned fisherman and author, Landon Mayer, will be there signing his book. Many local fly tying experts will be on hand to show their patterns and to give advice on what works well this time of year in the local waters. Jeff Hatten will be displaying his collection of vintage bamboo rods.

The Black Canyon Fly Fishing Show 2012...Montrose, CO is a family friendly event.

 

I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 22 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home...including fishing stories. If I lived closer I'd be there in a heartbeat. I have a few grandkids who love to fish, but can't catch anything besides weeds. Something like this would be great for them and best of all it can be done as a family.

Fly fishing means spring and it cant come soon enough with another foot of snow on its way for us. I thiught of you today, in the last 4 days i completed 33 BPO's. 13 alone on Sunday with another fresh batch of them for Wed. The asset manager is jumping for joy, i just hope to get some of these promised listings they are offering for all the hard work.

There sure is lot of great things to do in your area.  I need to pull out a calendar and figure out when I can come visit.  Any horse shows or rodeos coming up that I could cover?
