Finding Nemo Is Harder When Everyone Looks Like Nemo

Nemo HeadsI would venture to guess about 70% of REALTORS and Stagers are failing the USP test, the Unique Selling Proposition test. It is a case of

Finding Nemo Is Harder When Everyone Looks Like Nemo.

It is the plain vanilla professional. You are #1, call me if I can help you buy or sell a home, keep me in mind for referrals, blah blah blah. What makes you GREAT? WHY? Why should people demand that they get a piece of your time with help in real estate or staging?

That other 30% I smile with, as they define themselves keenly with key areas, focus, niche, strengths.

They harp on it over and over with their words, their web site, their discussion with clients.

Be different in a school of fish. STAND OUT!!

Now where on earth do you get a picture like that!?  I bet if you walked around with one of those hats you'd stand out quite well.

Cute analogy Gary & very true! Identifying you USP & being able to convey & translate it to your clients is key but also walking the talk that you say you're going to for each and every experience creates repeat & referral business.

Gary, That is a great question, in truth, we are probably in the 70%.  I need to take some time to get our USP figured out and start capitalizing on it!

Love the picture!

I threw out two postcards this week from "the greatest compliment I can receive...referrals...blah blah" agents that came in my mail.

What a great picture to illustrate your point.   It took me a moment to even see the people in the photograph.

Sometimes it can feel a bit risky trying to stand out from the crowd, but in the long run I think it does pay off.

If we settle on being like everyone else, it doesn't matter who the client chooses. Enjoyed the post and photo.

Gary, I also find the many agents and stagers are sterilizing home way to much.  You walk in and they don't fee like home to a buyer

Gary, the best part about USP's is that you must perform your uniqueness.  Mere words don't cut it!
