I woke up to 5 inches of SNOW at 5AM....At 9A - we have 8 * I'm not CLOSED

I'm getting "office closed" posts from other area property managers because of the heavy snow storm in the Virginia area.

We have known about this since SATURDAY.....so my question is HOW DO THEY DO THAT?  HOW DO THEY CLOSE?

I checked in with 3 repairmen yesterday on their "snow status" AND I have seen my yard service post on Fb with a photo of their plows that are READY to go to work.

I'm NOT at my office - although I am tracking a FedEx delivery of a tenant prospect's check to trigger my sending him his lease packet electronically. HOWEVER, I am working and I am certainly not advising clients or tenants that I am CLOSED.

Photo: After a few ours of prep: WE. ARE. READY.

AGAIN...what are we in BUSINESS for if it is NOT for EMERGENCIES?

close

Just slush on the ground in my part of Northern Virginia.  I may  not be on the roads but certainly I'll be working.

Ya just go with the flo.

As long as there's electricity and my satellite is working, I'm working.

I only have an inch or two of snow but the wind is picking up and this snow is predicted to continue coming down for another 18 hours.

Oh well!!

Don't really see how we can be closed anyway. We have to be available for emergencies and the cell phone lets me office from home if necessary.

Hello Wallace, I'm sorry our Northern and North East states are dealing with horrible conditions, I though yesterday was chilly in Austin, but I should'nt complain after hearing you and others talk about the weather conditions.....YUK!

Your dedication and love for real estate just shows how professional you are.

I can appreciate someone posting that their PHYSICAL office may not be open; however, NOT posting how emergencies can be handled is silly.....that's why we get hired!

Wallace in your business there will probably be emergencies and  tenants will be looking to you for answers so it will be reassuring to them that you are on the job.

Hopefully you received less snow than expected.  It is heading this way.

The fewer folks on the roads in those storms makes it easier for the plows to get their job done Wallace, but those that can should work from home as you do.
