Age Restricted Communities In Maryland

Their are a good number of age restricted communities in Marland.  The usual criteria is that the residents must be 55 years old or older.  Children below the age of 18 are not allowed to live there on a permanent basis.  Most of the communities have amenities such as a clubhouse, swimming pool, gym and walking paths.  The homes can be 1 level condominiums, attached town homes or single family homes.  They are all usually condominiums, so all of the outside maintenance is taken care of such as lawn care, fertilization, landscaping and snow removal.  There usually is a master insurance policy for the exterior of the home.  Social activities are available to all residents.  I live in such a community in Howard County, Maryland called Ellicott Meadows in Ellicott City.  In my next blog, I will discussed all of the 55+ communities in Howard County.
