Beware and take note of what your children are eating in their school lunches. Ask questions, get involved, find out where the food is coming from. If you do not have school age children but have elderly parents in nursing homes be concerned as well.
An alarming story just came to light by the Human Society. The Honolulu Star Bulletin just released this footage that shows a California beef company blatently violating the laws. The Humane Society has put out this video and it is being picked up by the media showing the disgusting, irresponsible, and illegal inhumane treatment of cattle being brought into the slaughterhouse and violations of health laws that increase your chances of getting very sick!
This is yet another case of what is really going on in the beef industry. There is much more of this that is hidden from the public.
WARNING: Please do not view these videos if you have a weak stomach. These are graphic. I have given you fair warning.
Stop playing Russian Roulette with your food supply!
If you care about the inhumane treatment of cattle or any other animal and you still want to eat beef, then buy organic beef that you can get from Whole Foods who makes sure the cattle is humanely killed or buy your beef from Kosher butcher shops. Stop supporting meat companies that violate health and safety laws as well as humane treatment of animal laws.
Now if you do not care about how the animals are killed or how they are treated that is your right to feel that way but maybe you do care about the increased chances of getting a disease because of the cattle that are too sick to move or too diseased to stand being put into your food supply. Listen to the health officials as they comment on the videos about the dangers to our health.
This company is selling this meat to the USDA who is serving this meat to young children through the National School lunch program and the elderly and the poor who are much more apt to get diseased because of their lower immunity levels. Mad cow disease, E.coli and other food poisoning are the result of these diseased animals being forced to be slaughtered and placed into our food supply. This one company's meat is being distributed through many states. It has been proven that these 'downed cows' are not fit for human consumption.
This is our government buying this meat and these are our government inspectors inspecting this meat before it goes into our food supply! The USDA sends out an inspector to check the cattle the company is going to slaughter that day at 6:30 a.m. and at 12;30 p.m. The cattle are paraded by the inspector and the law says that the cattle must be able to stand and walk. Any 'downed' cattle are not allowed to be slaughtered and must be humanely put to sleep. You will see in this video that this company is doing all manner of cruel and inhumane things to the cows in order to get that cow to pass inspection and put that cow into our meat supply without regard for even our lives.
Here is what the Honolulu Star Bulletin reported as distribution of this beef. The source is the Human Society.
Who got Westland beefHawaii was among the top 10 states receiving the most ground beef from Westland Meat Co. last year. The company is being investigated for alleged mistreatment of cattle and food safety violations.

If these videos do not cause you to stop eating meat or to switch you to organic meat I do not know what will! The Humane Society did a 6 week undercover investigation. This is like playing Russian Roulette with your dinner!
If you do not eat beef and your children do not eat from the school cafeteria you should still be alarmed and be proactive in teaching your children good hygiene as E.coli is contagious. It can pass quickly among school children who do not wash their hands with warm water and soap after using the bathroom. This bacteria is deadly in young children and the elderly. It is much worse than what the industry will tell you it is. I have seen the evidence and done the research on mad cow disease and the other prevalent bacteria in meat packing plants.
Since we homeschool and do not eat beef this is not a risk to us but we care about all the children and the elderly so please be proactive in your children and parent's health and buy organic beef or stop eating beef. There are many other foods you can eat that are healthy.
