National PI Day March 14, 2013 Huntsville Alabama March 14, 2013
First of all I apologize especially to all the engineers in Huntsville and Madison Alabama...and around the globe...I'm sure I screwed something up along the way in this post Celebrating PI.
Mathematicians around the globe are celebrating National PI Day March 14, 2013...no, not Blueberry or Apple...the mathematical constant variety, 3.141592653589732384.............and on............and on............! I read about one website that posted the value of PI out to one million places...poor little website crashed. Another website displays a more manageable ten thousand digits.
What is PI you say? Come on, it really hasn't been that long since high school algebra has it (kids are probably exposed to it in 1st or 2nd grade these days)? Anyway, PI is a real number that is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi is used in all sorts of exciting ways from cryptology to figuring out how long a string would be if it was suspended one foot off the surface of the earth over its entire circumference. I'm fairly sure it comes in handy when shooting guys into space, distance traveled and where they're going to land when they decide to come back home...probably a few other things as well.
Anyway, National PI Day is being celebrated today because it's March 14...3/14 the first three digits of PI. Please don't whack yourself on the forehead if you are reading this post tomorrow and completely miss out on the celebration because PI is also celebrated on July 22...I don't suppose anyone would care to guess why the 22 of July? Okay, I can feel your anxiousness so I'll just spill the beans...the fraction 22/7 is an approximation of PI...now don't you feel better? No? Then go have a slice of Apple PI!
I may not be able to help you much with the significance of or many uses for PI, but I am a pretty good Real Estate Agent should you need help buying or selling a new home.
If you need a knowledgeable real estate professional in Madison or Huntsville Alabama area, why don't you let me Google that for you! I also know outstanding agents in all states and Canada should you need help relocating to a new area.
