Yesterday while returning from my son's soccer game I saw a couple of lonely open house signs on the side of the road. I was wondering how many folks decided to skip the Super Bowl and go to an open house. I am sure those agents got the appreciation of their sellers, but not much else.
A couple of years ago I actually did an open house on Super Bowl Sunday. I must have been out of my mind. I was open from 1pm to 5 pm. Not one visitor until halftime. There were several homes around it that had large Super Bowl parties. At halftime several of the attendees next door came to see my open house. They were not interested in the home; they came to see if I had food.
So for those agents who held their listings open yesterday, you have the respect of the home owners. I hope you brought a book or were able to watch the game.
