Hiring The Right Real Estate Coach

By
Real Estate Agent with The Rockel Group 244520

As child, I grew up playing sports and knew all great athletes hired a coach. Having a coach was very important, as well as going to specific camps or training events. This was meant to help keep you on track and fine tune certain areas to make you better. Well, after leaving the military I decided that I wanted to go into real estate and I was not sure exactly where to start, but I heard I should hire a coach...After shelling out a few thousand dollars on a coaching company, I soon realized the coaches had never been in real estate, I was frustrated! About two years ago I went to Las Vegas for a Keller Williams Realty Master Minds conference and decided that I needed a coach. It was the best business decision I have ever made. I hired a Mastery coach with MAPS Coaching.

I spoke to my coach once a week for 20 months. She was amazing, but I felt like I needed a change, I am not a fan of change at all! I was determined to get a specific coach and last week I was put on his schedule. I was really happy and nervous at the same time. I knew that my last coach had help me through so much, both business and personally, but it was time to shake things up and move to the next level. Today was my first official call with my coach and I was amazed at how different the coaching styles were. Maybe it was due to how much I have grown over the last few years? Regardless, todays call resonated differently within me.

Life can get overwhelming as a real estate agent. Without accountability, focus, mindset, drive, systems and knowing your numbers, your life can feel so hectic and frustrating at times. Often I felt like a fly on a screen beating my head against it, trying to get out. Today gave me some clarity and and put things in perspective. Coaching is not for everyone. You have to be committed and open minded for growth. When I hear people talk about bad experiences with coaching, it’s typically means you have the wrong coach. I have had the wrong coach and it cost me a lot of money. I knew my goals and vision for this year were big and I could not fully execute them without guidances and accountability. I strongly recommend if you want to see change in your business and life, hire the right coach! Here’s to an awesome year!

Katrina, Coaching can be a real benefit. I had a business development coach when I had my own company and he was awesome. I looked forward to his insights and encouragements every week.
