The Butler Inn was the choice for dinner last night with our short sale team...all work and no play makes for a dull group...so we find times and occasions to Sellabrate success....and enjoy each other's after hours company as well as sample some of the fare at local pubs and eateries. Ahhh yes...one of my fantasies....a Butler...and that was the beginning of an enjoyable evening.
You will find a classic American menu with upscale steaks, accompanied by entrees ranging from fresh seafood to daily specials. You may choose Louie’s Five-Star Signature filet, shrimp, lobster, chops and daily specials. The appetizer selection includes flaming saganaki, fried lobster tail, meatballs, and Five Star Satay....Louie's famous tenderloin grilled and skewered.
The Inn touts itself as a supper club with "elegance and class in a laid back atmosphere." We so much prefer supper clubs to chain restaurants and were anxious to experience what they say is "Wisconsin's best kept secret." Entrees were offered with a choice of soup or salad...both the baked French onion and chicken and rice were very good. Salads had a good assortment of vegetables and offered with a choice of 20 different dressings and complimented by a bread basket.
The group chose an assortment of entrees....different cuts of the steaks that have made them "famous", shrimp and scallops. All were served with a choice of baked, stuffed, fried or hash brown potatoes. Rave reviews of flavorful steaks...fresh shrimp and outstanding scallops were the comments around the table....and a look at our calendars to book a return trip to sample more of the varied menu. We give it ALL thumbs up and three and a half stars. The only improvement we could think of was a little sound deadening in this popular place.
