When gathering information from the web it is important to double check your information for accuracy and use a variety of sources to obtain your information. False information on the web and in the wrong hands can ruin your credibility and cause unnecessary questions and mistrust from your friends, family, your employer and your customers. I want to share this with you.
Google searches have become my best friend, I've moved, I'm single and truly anything I need to do or have done I google it. I'm one of those folks who appreciate reviews, accurate information and up to date information yet I don't provide it. I realized that when updating some of my information.
If you are active in real estate or in business on the web, make sure all of your info is accurate. My neglect is probably someone else's gain with business or potential business lost the past few years.Revamping my web presence has been quite a reality check, it must be done to prepare for a change.
I found this information about myself, according to Findthebest.com my real estate license expired last year which is incorrect. Not sure where this information comes from but its there for all to see. Especially for those who matter the most real estate buyers and sellers. Let's not forget how people love to share negative stuff about people whether it is true or not. Some folks would probably not dig any further.
Who are these folks and where do they get their information? Chances are its information that exists and not all of it is accurate. What I see is out of date information and information that makes me think many of the sites and apps we use, sell our information.
Now, lets go to the correct source to verify someone's real estate license in the State of Florida which would be mine. You will see that my real estate license will expire next year!
Moral of the story: when researching people and/or information make sure and go to a reliable source but better yet keep your information accurate, because these sites are using it and make sure you know what is happening in your internet world. Technology is fantastic but it is only as good as the people creating and inputting this information.
Challenge #1: For One Week - Instead of playing farmville or watching t.v. Spend an hour a day and clean up your web presence. Google yourself! If 93% of buyers start their search online, your online presence probably needs to be as immpecable as your contracts and agreements. In a sense its kind of exciting...cleaning up...revamping and reinventing yourself! Are you with me? Do it!
FYI: I'm revamping my career, keep an eye out for some great information, tools and real estate training. It feels good, hot damn, I missed you all! ;) Looks like I am back dancing in the rain...
