Cinderella Chronicles * I have to move EARLIER than THAT!

By
Property Manager with Gibson Management Group, Ltd.

My current residents have almost all renewed their leases for another year and those who have NOT * I will be activating the listing for their homes on my web site and in organize them in my Craigslist posting routine * will be moving out of the area for their employment or further education.

Because there are fewer available rental homes in the area, local renters who want to move UP or DOWN are anxious to find another rental home and

I had a rental prospect contact me about a PERFECT new home she found on my website * PERFECT size and still in the school district her children current attend.

.....ONLY problem is that she needs to move 30 days BEFORE the property shows it is available on my website....

My response is that she needs to address that issue before we bother my current residents with showing the property to her family.

She has responded that she will talk to her current property manager about staying an additional 30 days at her current rental home.

HINT * I accommodated my current residents' lease term 2 years ago because of her education schedule which is why the property is available when it is available.

I doubt her current property manager wants to bring her client's rental property out of the HIGH rental season to accommodate her so I don't hold much faith that she is going to overcome this obstacle.

Excape clauses are hard to find in rental properties except for the military.

Unfortunately....rental marketing is a science when it comes to attracting quality rental residents and agreeing to DELAY their current residents departure when they NOT moving into another property under their management has no UPside for their current property manager

Wallace,

Priceless, not a problem we can solve for them.  If you did somehow solve that problem for her, kick out current tenants 30 days early, then she would need to expect something like that could happen to her.

I am getting a bit over the people who think the world revolves around them.

All the best, Michelle

Wallace - good point here; most property managers are not as astute as you are.

Personally - she needs to adjust her family life to remain in the rental she currently occupies...even if it includes 2 children occupying the same bedroom - HORRORS!

When there is a shortage of available rental properties, timing can be everything.  Thanks for sharing your story.

Wallace, the world of rentals or leases is a bit of a different animal than purchase/sales. I find myself working with more renters these days so your post caught my attention.
