It's Time to Check your Smoke Detectors & Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Every time you move your clocks ahead.. in the Spring and Back in the fall, it is important to check your smoke detectors to make sure they are working properly and change the batteries.
It is a requirement that the Smoke Detectors and Carbon monoxide detectors be certified by the local fire department in Greenfield, Franklin County, the Pioneer Valley, Western Massachusetts and all of Massachusetts prior to the sale of a home.
There must be a Smoke Detector within 10' of a Bedroom, at the base of the stairs including the basement stairs. There are 3 types of Detectors: Photoelectric, Ionization & Combination Smoke Detectors & Carbon-monoxide Detectors.

It is also required to have Carbon monoxide detectors on every living level if you live Greenfield, Franklin County, the Pioneer Valley, Western Massachusetts and all of Massachusetts. You can purchase a Combination Photoelectric/Carbon-monoxide detector to go in a place that requires both.
