Your a Real Estate agent wanting to facilitate a Real Estate transaction. You were hired to do a job and you did it. Services were exchanged for money and all walked away winners. However, it our industry of buying and selling, investing and servicing Real Estate, a closing gift to seal the memory of the deal is a common gesture
OK...WHAT DO WE GIVE?
What to give causes head scratching in the industry and to be unique about it can be challenging. Gift baskets, wine, calendars, gift certificates, magnet items, pen and pencil sets, flowers, plants, charity donations, vases, sweets, statues, food, pot pourri and more exist to choose from. What are we saying with these gifts?
PURPOSE PLAYS A PART
Is it to remember the Real Estate services person? Is it to help and thank the client? What is the message that the gift carries with it? Of course what to spend is just as important as the gift itself. Spend too much, and you trigger embarrassment issues. Spend too little and you might as well not spent at all. I believe that takes us back to the purpose of the gift.
FEEL THE DEAL
I believe the best closing gift is to deliver to the client everything they wanted that was in our power to perform. During that process, letting them know what is going on and asking them questions along the way makes them feel the deal up close and working to their advantage. I ran into an old client the other day and she was happy to see me and my wife personally. WHY? I remember going the distance and it is still working
I GIVE WHAT WE AGREED...AND THROW IN SOME HEART
I don't like giving gifts but I have done it. Instead, I like giving service and lots of it. To me, that is how someone remembers you is by the quality time and genuine attention given during the services. I don't automatically give gifts, but I am open to it. I will assess it at the time...It has to be real and in the flow. I don't like to buy affection but earn it instead
CLIENTS REALLY GIVE THE BEST GIFTS
Let me say this. If your job is done correctly, then your client is going to give you a gift to show their appreciation. That is the gift of a GOOD MOUTHING commonly known as referrals. That means your services were a hit. What price can you put on that?
Thank you
