How do I get my home ready to sell? Part 2

Today we're going to look at things you can do on the exterior of your home to get it ready to sell:

Exterior
* Keep the rocks neat and tidy and remove all yard clutter. (in Arizona we don't have much grass)
* Weed and apply fresh mulch to flower beds.
* Apply fresh paint to fences, if possible.
* Tighten and clean all door handles.
* Clean windows inside and out.
* Power-wash home's exterior.
* Paint the front door.
* Buy a new welcome mat.
* Place potted flowers near the front door

These are just a few things that you can do to the exterior to help your home stand out.  Curb appeal can sell the home before the buyer walks in the front door.

Lets shake things up at your home today!

So many people are just concerned about the interior of the house when they put it on the market.  I'm glad you showed the importance of the exterior maintenance and upkeep.........it's so important and the first thing a potential buyer sees.

Hi James, It that exterior that will make buyers want to stop the car, and take a look inside when they are our checking out the neighborhood.

Thank you Debbie, I got my first response from a blog I did earlier in the month from someone that did a Google search and found my blog.  So I'm already seeing my efforts paying off.  I'm just learning as much as I can from everyone on ActiveRain.

Curb appeal is the key - so you are on target, James. After all, exterior makes the first impression, correct?

All great 'exterior staging' points.

James -- you want the buyers to get out of the car and not say "move on" when they pull up.   Curb appeal needs to be addressed.
