New Construction Open House Safety Tips!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

New Construction Open House Safety Tips! When conducting an open house in new construction properties, it is important to put your personal safety first and not to become complacent with your safety precautions.

Here are just a few things I do every time when conducting an open house in a new construction house....

* Inform the neighbors that I will be conducting an open house and ask them to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

* Ensure my cell phone is fully charged and has good reception in all areas of the home.

* I let a co worker, my spouse or friend know where I will be and to expect a call from me every hour.

* Determine the escape routes as soon as I get to the house. Unlock dead bolts to allow for quick escape.

* As I go through the house and turn on all lights and open all blinds, I check every room and closet.

* I have visitors sign in as they come into the house.

* When showing the house, always walk behind visitors and do not put myself in a position where I have no exit route.

* I tell visitors about the rooms upstairs and allow them to go up alone.

* Most importantly, I trust my instincts!

Open houses may be a good way to meet prospective buyers, just be sure to keep your personal safety foremost in your mind.
