You certainly made it quite clear how long it could take to install hardwood flooring and why Debbie..........expert advice from The Flooring Girl. Perfect Q&A post for the 31 day challenge.
Deb, sometimes homeowners are unrealistic on their timeframes and it needs to be done right...especially the 'curing' process as you say...great timeline blog on floors to share.
Thanks so much, Ginny. Yes, people need to plan ahead, otherwise, they will need to make sacrifices - either on price or on quality or they will be limited in choices available.
Debbie, It sure can be a time consuming process but it you want it done right, it needs to be. The end results will greatly outweight the timeframe. So gorgeous! Great info.
Debbie, your blog post/writing style is spot on...very easy to read/understand and it flows well too...keep it up!
Debbie, I look forward to reading each of your posts! Each of your posts adds value to Active Rain and to our knowledge as Realtors. In the Dallas area, I have seen hardwood installers wait more than a week for acclimation, due to our changes in humidity. I love site finished hardwood!
As usual you are a fountain of information on flooring. I am sure consumers don't realize what is involved in the installation of wood floors. Not they have an excellent guide.
Debbie, this will stay in the archive for those owners who wish to push the acclimation time. Sometimes they don't want to take our word for it. Did I mention that this was a superb post?
Debbie this is really useful information, and the timelines are an excellent reference tool.
Wow! This is so informational and well done. Thank you very much for this!
Kristin - Thank you so much. That means a lot to me.
Sharon - Thank you so much. Yes, if it's humid, it better to let it acclimate longer.
Jane - Great point. Yes, most people don't realize this.
Kevin - Thank you so much, and I'm so glad this will come in handy.
George - Thank you, and I hope it helps homeowners so they can plan ahead on their hardwood flooring projects.
Debbie, this is really great information for people thinking about installing hardwood floors. Really sets up their expectations and time lines well.
Debbie
Thanks for sharing a comprehensive post on installing hardwood floors.
Good luck and success.

I had no idea that the flooring had to sit in the house to acclimate to the humidity levels etc. of the home! Interesting! Very helpful time estimates for homeowners to consider, too!
Debby, I love your blog. I had a conversation with a seller who had floor questions, and thanks to your blog, I knew what she was talking about. But seriously, I really think that you should move yourself and your business to DC!
Juli - Thank you so much. I hope it helps people plan ahead.
Lou - You're welcome. And, have a great week.
Nina - Yes, this is a step that many don't realize. (and it's often the cause of issues in the floor when the wood hasn't acclimated)
Patricia - You are so sweet. Thank you so much. I'm so glad to hear that. You made my day.
I can tell you that when you are working alone and only certain evenings after work and home inspection reports, it can take many weeks! See my website!
