Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Wright-Pace Real Estate

Spring is here and lot of homeowners   are thinking, it is time to put their home on the market. Now that the decision has been made to sell your home, you'll want to look at it differently. It's now a house "for sale"  and you have to look at it through a "buyers" eyes. Dressing your house for success doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. First, lets start with outdoors....spruce up all around the house outside, trim shrubs, weed garden beds, clean off your outdoor furniture, fix doorbells and door knobs, and any broken windows need to be replaced. Let's go indoors...declutter  kitchen cabinets and  keep counter tops clear, clean closets, keep bathrooms scrubbed, tidy, fresh towels are a good idea as baths and kitchens make the biggest impression on a buyer. Keep shades open for a light and airy feel. Be sure every room SMELLS as good as it looks, paying special attention to pet areas. And then to "Showtime" make sure open blinds, turn on lights, empty wastebaskets, pick up after pet and take inside pets with you, just do a final check on all rooms and remember look at your home through the eyes of a buyer. Most important thing you can do for you, the buyer and your agent is keep home CLEAN....A home that is always CLEAN and smells CLEAN is shown more than those that are not. So, just remember clean, clean and clean and you will be on your way to a "SOLD" house.

You're right- Clean sells better! There is nothing worse than a house that smells bad. Buyers will forever refer to a smelly house as "the cat urine house" or the "fish house". A house can even be a little bit messy- as long as it doesn't smell like a mess.

Hello, Debi

Yes, it is sooo nice to open the door of a home and have that clean smell be the first thing you smell....and buyers know the sellers have put a little extra into the home.   Good luck in 2013!!
