When people put their existing homes on the market they usually have a destination in mind to move to.
With all the if's involved in a transaction, moving is not one. Once a closing and funding date is established, the seller will vacate. Preferably leaving the property in clean condition with no surprises.
On our last move we had a house under contract. It was a definite destination with a moving date well established.
This time we are not sure quite which town we wish to make home next. The where's to work and finding something small to lease while we check out the area will make a difference.
We will continue to work on packing and shop for a lease on line but this world of virtual homes does not feel secure.
We know well how much the surrounding areas make to whether a house makes sense. Having been in Real Estate since 1978 we know so much better than to just put all our belongings on a truck and head out, but that is the current situation we are in.
Until we close and have the check in our hand we are not making solid plans...unless a lease house we know first hand shows up.
In this life there are so few things that can be counted on. Having a familiar place to put your things and lay down your head is one of the best. Destination? A place that feels like home.
Jeanne, area knowledge is powerful in servicing your clients. actually, expertise is best. Thanks for sharing
Ralph & Jeanne WOW! Moving, huh? Pick a place you know you will enjoy. Please consider Custer County, Colorado. PARADISE! Eighty-five (85) degrees is as hot as it gets. You only sweat if you want to sweat! Happy Easter and enjoy a great future!
Another key element of moving is the motivation which I seem to have missed in your story perhaps not something you wish to make public. I wish you all the best in this next chapter of your journey. Happy ♥ Easter
He is Risen!
I have fancied moving to Palestine. They have many four and five story buildings that I wanted to convert into living quarters. The roof top would be my garden yard and the back side parking would be my carport and an area to relax.
Best wishes for an exciting part of your life as you seek a new residence. If you lived in Maryland, we would not be surprised to see you purchase in North Carolina.
Be careful and make the best decision.
Jeanne and Ralph, wishing you all the best with your upcoming move! There have been a few times in my life where we moved to another state without having a new place to live in yet. Those times we spent a month or two in a hotel while house hunting and getting to know the area. Hope you had a good Easter.
