Easter bunnies, chicks and chocolate are a rare combination that will come together next weekend with the celebration of Easter. While the actual day is to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion at Calvary and marks the end of Lent, it has also become a day that we give live "Easter" bunnies, baby chickens, colored eggs and chocolate to each other and children as part of this celebration.
Unfortunately, most of these "live" bunnies and "chicks" will either be smothered (literally) with love, or neglected and will die within the first year!

So, if Easter baskets are a part of your tradition, please leave out the live animals and only give chocolate, easter eggs and other non-living treats. Something like......

While the sugar content of chocolate and the yellow peeps may not be a great alternative for children or adults, their consumption can at least be controlled to some degree without having to explain the demise of "Peter Rabbit"!
Besides, I saw what you did last year.........

Have a great Easter, however you choose to celebrate!
