When I heard this news yesterday, I could not believe my ears. Firebird International Raceway is holding its last event on Saturday, March 30, 2013. This has been a place of fun and memories for friends and family for 30 years in the Valley of the Sun. Going to Firebird Raceway to watch the dragsters race and the boats race is one of the things that I have enjoyed as an Arizona native and I will be sad to have it gone. Driving down the I-10, traffic always slowed down a little so everyone could see what was going on and check out the trucks and trailers from their favorite racers.
March 30th will bring monster trucks like Bigfoot and Bounty Hunter to the raceway as well as ROBOSAURUS. Come watch as he leaves devastation behind in his tracks. There will also be Funny Cars and Jet Dragsters speeding down the legendary raceway. There will be a Kid Zone available. So, bring out the family and your friends to this final event of one of the area's icons. Tickets are available online - you don't want to miss out on this one!
