A Surprise For Our Saturday in Westminster, CO!

Westminster, CO - A beautiful Spring day in Colorado has "sprung" upon us overnight! Of course, we did get a "heads up" about this Spring snow storm, but we are always skeptical about weather reports during this time of the year! I mean, the weather reports can fluctuate hourly in this "Mile High City"!

Now, keep in mind... that in Colorado, our greatest amount of snow falls occur during the March and April time frame! Number 1 and number 2, respectively! Actually, we have had a somewhat mild Winter with the cold and snow this last season. When that happens it tends to spoil us with the warmer weather. It did reach up into the 70 degrees range, last week!!

As I look out my windows towards the streets, I have decided, with a mutual agreement of my clients, to NOT venture out today to view a property about 8 miles to our South. We have learned in Denver, that it is NOT always a desperate situation to view a property when safety is at risk... so let's not place ourselves and our clients in harm's way!!

Besides, I now have time to view my blogs and other real estate activity that can be worked at home while waiting out a Spring snow storm in Denver, Colorado.

Joan, you are so right .... although I do have some buyers in Wheat Ridge that keep losing out on making a bid... another one 2 days on the market went under contract, before they could look at it.

Hi Joe ... when April rolls around, I am always ready for some warmer weather. We do get spoiled here when the Winter months are warmer than usual. So when a snow comes with very COLD temps, right now it is 10 degrees, it hits us harder than normal. Bring on the Spring flowers and green grass and leaves!!

I never minded the snowfall when I lived in Denver. In two weeks, it was generally all gone. Heck, sometimes it could snow in the morning and be gone by afternoon.

No, JaneAnne... no sled for me!! Wayne and Jean .... let's not be teasing me about green grass pretty flowers, now!!

Elizabeth... you are so right ... this last weekend snow, that dang COLD showed up, it got down into single digit temps over the weekend. BUT, now it is 64 degrees and all that snow is meited and gone!! We must be prepared, on Monday they are expecting another snow storm for that day. April is sitll the 2nd snowiest month of the year, right behind March!!

Dan, in 2008 I spent a few days in the Westminster area in February while attending some real estate classes at the Broomfield Association. I was so apprehensive thinking I would have to drive during a snow storm but I was lucky for the most part, just some light dusting one morning and some wet snow one night coming home from dinner.
