We landed in Savannah really late and barely made our dinner reservation at The Sapphire Grill before they stopped serving. We changed planes in Atlanta, but it was still a super long flight from Sacramento. If I'm gonna fly that far, you'd think I would be waking up in the islands, and this morning I am, but it's not the islands you might think. It's Hilton Head island in South Carolina, and what a charming place. Even more charming, though, are the people in the South. Why, I could get used to this way of life.
Although, they might not like me much since I am so direct. My husband accused me of trying to get him decked twice in public places. But that guy at the ticket counter should have taken his issue up with Hotwire and not the Alama car rental clerk. Hey, I called him "Sir." And that other guy at the bar at The Sapphire Grill -- he was too loud and that was obnoxious. I was polite. But not quite as polite as the people of South Carolina.
