With Fort Rucker, Alabama serving as the Home of Army Aviation, there are a constant stream of soldiers coming into and out of the base. Here in Dothan, which is about 20-30 minutes from the base, we see many soldiers choose to live here because of the greater access to restaurants, entertainment, and various other things that enhance their experience in southeast Alabama. Fort Rucker is easily accessed via US Hwy 84 West, or US Hwy 231 North. From the west side of Dothan, it is usually a 15-20 minute drive once you get on Hwy 84.
