Ready, Set, Pony Up!

We talk so much about spring cleaning for your home to get ready for the warm weather; we tend to forget about our vehicle and how much we depend on it.  Is your vehicle ready for the summer weather?  Before you take a road trip with the family, take some time to ready your vehicle to make sure it is at its best!

Check your oil to be sure it is clean and at the full level.  It should be an amber color, not dark brown or black.  Think about synthetic oil on your next change, as it has a longer life between oil changes.  Make sure your coolant is cool and that your radiator is full. This will give you cooler air conditioning (which is so important here in Arizona).  Transmission fluid should be a bright red color and full to manufacturers’ specifications (automatic transmission). Don’t forget to top off your power steering fluid.  Changing your windshield wipers and checking your battery are items that should be taken care of too.

Keep an eye on your brake fluid to make sure the level is full and the fluid is not grimy. Check your brakes to be sure there is a lot of pad left.    Last, but certainly not least, make sure your tires have lots of tread and that they are properly inflated.  Replacing air with nitrogen in your tires will result in not only better tread wear and a longer tire life, but increase your fuel mileage.

Have fun traveling with your family this summer and stay safe.  If you are passing through the Phoenix area and would like to put some roots down, visit www.homesforsaleinsupriseaz.org to find a great home.
