A little over a year ago I was contacted by a couple interested in relocating to the Bay Area from the East Coast. The source of the referral was my ActiveRain Blog which of course made me happy since I was spending a lot of time gathering information and blogging about local real estate conditions in the 680 Corridor. We spent time together previewing properties on three separate occasions over the past year and on March 22nd we closed on a home that will bring them closer to their family and friends!
My Mea Culpa...
Over the past few months I have not been nearly as active blogging on ActiveRain or my website TriValleyLife.com. Life is busy. Deals in this market require considerable more work. I volunteer quite a bit as a Little League coach, Junior Achievement Coordinator and take an active role in local community events. But I had been thinking a lot lately about my lack of participation in the blogging community. For me it was not just an opportunity to prospect for business but I also enjoyed reading and interacting with the many engaged real estate professionals. ActiveRain is unique in that it provides a different perspective into the people, regions and real estate markets all over the country. I was in need of a catalyst to get re-energized.
Back to my ActiveRain Success Story...
It was during one of our property tours that I was informed that it was their son who had provided this referral. OK...but in this case it turned out that the son in question was none other than Nikesh Parekh, the CEO of ActiveRain. He has penned his own blog about it...”Another ActiveRain Success Story: My Parents” and a comment in his post hit home about the need for consistency in order to be successful on both the B2C and B2B levels. With my current blogging efforts I would most likely have not gotten the chance to get to know his wonderful parents and assist them in their home purchase.
So...my goal is to get “back in the saddle”, have fun and create more content. One thing that I always enjoyed about putting together my community market reports is that I was always in tune with what was going on at the city as well as neighborhood levels. That point alone is worth the effort because every prospective client appreciates a knowledgeable Real Estate Professional who has his or her thumb on the pulse of the local market.
I’m glad to be back..........and a BIG THANKS TO ACTIVE RAIN and Nikesh for providing the referral!
