They Can Hate Us - But We're Back At Them!

I just read a comment pointed to the blog "Why Do People Hate Us So Much."  He mentions a group called the "Parent Relocation Council" who claim to be experts on determining whether or not an agent is a true professional simply by having them pass certain tests.  Well now, who are these people and what gives them the right to decide the measure of a person simply by what they consider to be the right tests.  Honestly the older I get the less patience I have with this dribble.  It makes me want to vomit when I hear these self-rightous groups who think they have all the answers. 

Don't they realize how tough it is to get started in this field without putting up blocks?  I'm new to A/R but if I have no blogs to offer in the way of originality, because goodness knows most everything must have been said, I certainly will come in on anything that's worth a comment.  How can a new agent get started unless they have other experience beside the classroom.  We have different styles in this profession, however common sense will tell you whether or not someone can really deliver the goods.  Even when your out of the starting gate, there is an urgency to please your client in every way.  I know I felt that way and believe me I was a nervous wreck. 

I have taken my share of abuse and vowed it would not deter me from my goal. I'm proud to be a Realtor and heaven help the person who tells me I'm being overpaid.  I give all of myself to a client even when their behavior sometimes borders on impudence.  I don't know why this profession has taken such a bad wrap.  I only know that I will defend it because there are people out there who know and appreciate the work and diligence of a Realtor.
