Gift money in one's bank account for a home purchase

Well, when the underwriter looks at your bank statements, they will be forced to examine all deposits and withdrawals in your account ON THE STATEMENTS THAT YOU PROVIDE.  That is to say, the most recent bank statement.... So, if you are going to buy a home, but have asked your parents or other people to help you with your downpayment...think ahead.  It will make it easier if you get all deposits in your account and "season" them...Let them be there for a couple of months.  It helps make the whole process go so much easier.

Also, think about the presentation of the paper trail that you will be providing to the loan officer, and therefore the underwriter... Keep it as clean as possible to make their jobs as easy as possible.  The means your loan will be easier to process.  Win-win.
