Being a real estate agent (or self employed) means YOU are your business. It's important to check in with yourself several times per day to assess your current attitude, your energy levels and your motivation. The greatest assets you can own are your physical energy and a good attitude. If you're lacking energy and enthusiasm to see the day through, you're lacking the drive to successfully engage new/exisiting clients and close existing deals/projects.
Fact: the real estate market ebbs and flows. However, it's your emotions that have peaks and valleys. Depending on how you approach your day, one of two things can happen: you can shoot for the stars or you can drown yourself and your sorrows in the nearest bottle of *something* (insert poison of choice here).
Check yourself before you wreck yourself…and your business.
You must have a good attitude. It's essential. Don't let a poor mental attitude sabotage your full potential. If you decided you can't do it, fact is, you won't do it. You probably won't even try. With that type of attitude you'll miss 100% of everything and every opportunity.
An attitude is a mental position, feeling or emotion towards a fact or state. It's time to fight bad attitudes and bad facts. Focus on the positive while letting go of the negative. Easier said than done. Can't break the bad attitude? Take a step back to observe and assess your current surroundings. Your immediate surroundings have great impact on your mental state or attitude. Your thoughts are seeds. Your mental state is the garden. Grow the good, weed out the bad.
Are you struggling to understand your attitude? An attitude is a by-product of your personal philosophy. What is your personal philosophy? Philosophy stems from what you believe about yourself. What you believe about your current environment (personal and professional). What you believe about your future. Once you better understand your personal philosophy, it can help you to better understand your attitude.
Make sure you take care of yourself. Eat well, exercise, relax and make time for yourself. If you physically feel good about yourself, that too will make a big difference in a very positive way. Remember: If you can't take care of yourself, you can't take care of your business.
