9 Newsworthy Notes That Occurred on March 29

By Michelle Carr Crowe, Silicon Valley real estate guide selling homes in San Jose

What do the Knights of Columbus, Coca-Cola and New Sweden have in common? All share an important newsworthy anniversary on March 29.

If you’ve read my www.ActiveRain.com/Resultsblog, you know one of the pastimes I enjoy is learning new facts and interesting pieces of history.

Sometimes I come across intriguing stories while reading our local San Jose Mercury News, or one of my favorite magazinesMental Floss or  Smithsonian. I also find articles and facts online at Wikipedia,The History Place, Brainy History,Dates In History, History Orb or the National Geographic Society. Today’s collection of facts was found at The People History.

While these interesting items pique my curiosity, they (usually) have nothing to do with my real estate business, which is helping people like you buy and sell homes in Silicon Valley, Calif. and beyond. I admit, learning new facts just adds fun and joy to my brain, soul and life.

Here are today’s 9 Newsworthy Notes That Occurred on March 29. I hope you find them interesting, too.

1638 – Swedish colonists establish the first European settlement in Delaware, naming it New Sweden.

As always Michelle, very interesting. In particular I liked the one regarding the Terracotta Army, something I have always found amusing. And the one regarding the Dow Jones, I am all ears when it comes to stocks!

The most amazing event, is Hitler getting 99% of the vote to get elected. When there is no one running against this piece of ship, that is the result of what could happen. One person caused the dismiss of over 30 million human beings.

1886 – Dr. John Pemberton brews the first batch of Coca-Cola in a backyard in Atlanta, Georgia. I guess today he would get arrested for illegal drug manufacturing!

The first highway was established in 1806? Wonder how wide it was?

Michelle, Amazed at the facts and like Joe, how Hitler was able to dupe so many people. I like your trivia.
