I am on a mission! I am trying to collect enough donations to send two children to MDA camp this summer by March 5, 2008. The MDA organization has a 5 day camp in Bunkie, Louisiana beginning May 25, 2008. I would absolutely love if you were to be so generous and open your hearts and join with me in my efforts to send two campers on a memorable week of camping and activities. This is a great program that serves many families throughout Ascension Parish as well as the entire United States. I met Adrian an 9 year old this past week who attended the camp last year for the first time. She said, "It was the best week of my life, even better than Disney World." This is such an awesome place for children with physical disabilities to connect with other children and not looked upon as being "different."
My daughter Anna was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease this past year, and we are now eligible to participate in the clinic. Even though she does not have muscular dystrophy it is covered, like so many other diseases, under the MDA umbrella. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful clinic with some of the best neurologists in the state right here in Baton Rouge.
