Fishhawk Lake Easter Butterfly
This lovely little being alighted upon my forsythia, along with other plants while my husband and I were out working on our landscaping. He didn't give me much time to shoot before deciding that the next plant was equally as delicious.
The colors reminded me of Easter eggs, spring and all things "waking up". Butterflies are a sign of a healthy environment. I look forward to many more gracing my path!

Here it is from the side....when it's wings are completely closed, it looks like a leaf, fading into the plant for protection.
What a lovely post and those pictures, of the gorgeous butterfly, but the lake/canoe one at the end always gets to me...dreamy!
Very nice shot Gayle - it saddens me greatly that their numbers continue to diminish. This was the worst year ever for the numbers of Monarch butterflies returning to Mexico - I hope we figure things out soon as I can't imagine a world without these fascinating creatures.

Gayle I love butterflies. We have gone to Mexico to see the Monarchs...loved it! Our place here has ALL the bees and butterflies in the summer because everything else in town is bricked...we have flowers! Great Pic and thanks
