You Look Great! Have You Lost Weight? You Look More Relaxed, Too!
By Michelle Carr Crowe, Cupertino, Calif. real estate agent selling San Jose, Calif. homes
Yesterday I met with two of my favorite clients, Ram and Raghuveer. Ram is a first-time home buyer, and his friend, Raghuveer, is a new homeowner who came along to share his opinion of the San Jose home that Ram’s considering buying.
When we were talking, Raghuveer commented, “You Look Great! Have You Lost Weight?” and Ram chimed in, “You look like you’ve lost weight. You Look More Relaxed, Too!”
I thanked both of them for noticing and shared my health goal this year has been more sleep (and rest), more water and more fruits and vegetables.
It felt good to hear my efforts are paying off in two ways:
1) I feel healthier
2) Other people who care about me are noticing the physical differences.
Focusing on correcting some of the key causes of overeating has helped me stick with this plan.
Adequate sleep and rest is the first thing recommended in The Belly Fat Diet. After reading that book, I noticed I often began mindlessly overeating late in the afternoon and at night-when I was tired.
Drinking two glasses of water and eating a couple of Clementine cutie tangerines and taking a nap (or at least a rest) has helped me change that pattern when I remember to pay attention to my body.
I also find I work better in 3-4 hour shifts with 1-2 hour breaks in between. It’s better to be energetic and focused, then rest and relax so I can effectively repeat the pattern.
I’m actively replacing the bad habit of pushing myself like a sweatshop worker with training like a thoroughbred. This is my final post of three in the Get Healthy in the Rain Group
