WHY EVERY SELLER SHOULD THINK LIKE A BUYER

I know that every seller has designed and kept their home in their own style and what makes them feel comfortable since they bought the house.  They have their own decorating style, colors, pictures, furniture and knck knacks.  Then they decided to sell their home, and the Realtor tells them that they need to de-personalize it.  They are offended!  Why wouldn't every buyer like the way i have designed my home?

Think like a buyer!  Buyers have their own ways that they want to personalize their home.  Some of your things are just in their way.  You need to step back and think like you were buying a home and what are you looking for.  A blank canvas.  A house that you can make your own without re-doing aeverything.  Neutral walls and carpet.  No clutter.  Lots of room for your stuff.

Think like a buyer and you will sell your house quicker and for more money!

Well put!  By putting themselves in the Buyers' shoes, Sellers should be able to depersonalize their home - and if not, they should contact a Home Stager!

Great post and I often take my truly stubborn sellers to homes on the market very similar to theirs that are in "sale shape".  It is a rude awakening for them but they get the point.
