Is he in or is he out? Of the red wagon, I mean. Don Thompson as a kid.

We did a blog yesterday showing an old house, worn out but still standing.  It brought back a lot of memories.

Don Thompson, Super Sleuth who grew up in Searcy, sent a picture of himself as a kid visiting at a house similar to the one we pictured.

I looked at it and thought he was behind the wagon.

I looked again and saw he was actually IN the wagon.

It is a puzzler, almost.  Is he in or is he out.  Which do you see first?

He is standing so securely and the wagon looks as it it could tip.

Thanks, Don, for sending us a great pictureI

There are two accompanying props in the older pictures with kids, which are so quintessential to the time.  One is a picture on a pony, and the other is with a red wagon.  Funny thing - Just a couple days ago, I was wishing I had one of those red wagons to use out in my yard.

Myrl, wouldn't it be nice if kids were as appreciative of a toy now.  Seems that they have too many toys now!

Myrl:  I still have our son's little red wagon....and I use it when working in the yard.

When our first grandchild was born, my first Christmas present to HER was a Radio Flyer (little red wagon)....I pulled her all around her neighborhood as soon as she was old enough to sit up in it and hold on tight to the sides.

As to Don, he just might have been standing outside the wagon, but doctored the photo to make us think he was standing INSIDE, in his little white shoes.

Thank you Anita.  I, too, was having that evil thought and hesitated to say so.  But knowing how the master illusionist works...I couldn't help but doubt.

Here's another one and it is clear that I have one foot in that same wagon.

How adorable...the house, the wagon, the cute hair cut, and King of the wagon...so cute...but I'm afraid I was won over with the overalls...

Hello, James, have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Anita, we do have to watch Don with those tricks he does.  You know, that wagon looks different from most wagons.  Look how thick the wheels were.  He may have doctored those wheels when he was a little kid.  We know he started out early with his multi-skills.

Mary, we are together with our worries about Don and his tricks.   But isn't that kid cute!!!

Don, master illusionist, we can see this one clearly and you were still one cute kid.  Wonder what the rope in the wagon was for?  And what about those thick wheels?  You have some "splainin" to do.

Debbie, That Don was a heart breaker even at that tender age!  He was too cute to believe!

Debbie, those overalls (over hauls as we called them) are mighty cute, but I'll have to vote for the short shorts and the white shoes.

That wagon does look "different" now that you mention it, Barbara.  I'm thinking it was homemade, and not a Radio Flyer.  I"m sure Don will have the details of the wagon before the day is over.

Ladies, those wheels aren't thick. The wagon has fenders to keep mud from splattering the rider's fine overalls or white shoes!

Don, you came through with the answer just as Anita predicted you would.  If you had that wagon today not telling what it would be worth.  You don't have it down in your workroom, do you???

Anita, he did it!

Don, that was either a little wagon or a little boy had BIG feet.  The wagon is filled!

Harold Gene, I agree with you.  He may be sifting through treasures right now!  I just hope he does not cheat and send us a photo-shopped picture of the little wagon!
