Elk in Livermore Colorado

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

I spotted this elk herd in Livermore today on my way back home from a closing.

The closing had been postponed several times; it was frustrating and stressful for everyone involved, and it was good to finally get it closed!  After spending the afternoon running errands and driving in Loveland and Fort Collins traffic, I felt happy and relieved to be turning off the Highway and heading west toward home- even happier when I spotted the elk.

Native American people believe that each animal teaches us lessons about life that we need to learn. They say, the elk remind us to pace ourselves and protect our stamina.  Elk are able to look at the long journey and are very adept at maintaining their energy and perseverance.

‘Good lesson for this real estate agent or anyone involved in a real estate transaction, I think!

I found this elk herd in Livermore…..or maybe they found me.

Ah, life is good in Livermore, Colorado!

I have been working on one for ten months with multiple title/repair issues that has been delayed time and time again.  I think it's gonna close this month.  Guess I need to learn that lesson from the elk too.

Thank you William, it is a good reminder, I think.  I appreciate you stopping in tonight William.

Hi Charles, they will hang out in this area for a little while and then I won't see them for months...but it is nice to see them and all the other wildlife that is around us.  I agree with you, I think they are beautiful.  Thanks for taking a look Charles!

Thank you Eric, a closing is always good, right? :-) I'm glad you stopped by.

Mary it almost seems like the elk as a herd were a Godsend for you to see about endurance and that meaning coming away from a multiple delayed closing. Hang in there. Just one of those days.

Good morning Dan, thanks for your thoughts on it, I appreciate it.

Hi Debbie, I agree! and so many times I see them driving, where it is impossible to pull over in time to get the shot- but isn't it fun to be able to see so many?  Thanks for the congrats on the closing, I did work hard, it nearly drained all my energy....lesson learned!

Hi Gary, they were indeed a great reminder. I like your perspective, too...there will probably be many "just one of those days" ahead :-}  Thanks Gary!

Definitely a good lesson for the real estate agent--there is lots of pacing and perserverence involved!

Ah thank you Jeffrey, and I love seeing pictures of the beach...flowers, you know- green growing things...especially in winter!

Melissa, Perseverence definitely!  I'm going to try and pace myself better and solve the same problems without expending every drop of energy- a challenge, because I usually go "all in"!! Thanks Melissa, it's always nice to see you.

I had to read your title line twice, Mary.  We have a Livermore here in California too. . .But no elk there.  They truly are beautiful animals, aren't they.

Good advise for real estate agents, Mary! Between lenders cutting buyers loose in underwriting and fickle and incomprehensible short sale banks and lien holders stamina is a great thing to have!

Hi Myrl, yes Livermore CO and Livermore CA.....I've had a few confusing moments about that too!  I think they are awesome animals, so big, beautiful and often elusive!

Hi Bruce, it's amazing isn't it? We do need to protect our stamina as there are many bumps and rough patches in some real estate transactions- I think the elk can help us...
