One thing about our weather this year is the maddening changes from warm, to cool to really cold for an April date. We have lived long enough in Michigan [actually very long Ha!] to know that spring here is simply a word in conversation.
When that poor creature was lifted out of his winter-sleep by those gentlemen in top hats, it was a 'Given' that this year he would turn the tables on THEM and show them--whatever it is that they actually see--that an early Spring was going to be the result for 2013. Perhaps, he was aware of the number '13'. don't know, but this is Not an early Spring around here. Not at all even an early Spring.
We have had some 50's. here and there. then and now, once in a while.
Not at all enything that actually begins the Spring buddings.
One year [ 10 years ago or something like it] we actually had an April that bloomed warm and never looked back. Oh the memories.
To be truthful in the telling, that was the year that had early allergy like reactions to the wonderful growths outside. All in all though it turned warm in early April and never looked back.
Really, really want to get out there and start the final cleanups needed to present a good looking yard.
So ready to remove the winter doldrums that become part of outside areas due to snows, rains, wind and cold.
This is a good time for me to actually get in action as now am able to walk on flat surfaces and these gardens have only a slight rise to them.
Have practiced the speech to the winged-friends that visit our yard concentrating on ' please do your dropping on the grass that is mowed'. So much better than to see them on the Black wrought iron feeding stations. {Do this every year.]
[[Every year we get the same results--totally ignored]]
Even am looking forward to the 'replacement' bags of deco stones to fill in those areas that are removed each and every year. However, this is totally an upgrade from shoveling and wheeling the 'wood chips'.
Just looked up the the outside window to my left and it looks as if it has become darker out there. Can't really se as we had glass block windows put in so everything appears in waves of dark and light. Much more preferred to a curtain. Totally better than being on display to anyone who likes to look into one's basement.
Ok so I'm a tad uneasy about having a view into this area. Have discovered that I work better when I know that I am not visible to the unexpected viewer.
Didn't really cost that much either and was placed into the wells before office items were placed.
While crusin' in the Rain, it is fun to read about those of you who actually have spring flowers, warm weather & 'house hunters'.
Since we are no longer the agents but the owner-sellers we are so ready for sunny, warm weather.
To all of you enjoying true Spring weather [as in actual warmth & sun shine], please send a notice to the weather controller that we need similar weather.
OK, am aware of the verse / words of "Spring showrers bring May flowers" and the other such , but for now we are so ready here for warm sunshine and all that implies.
Have a good rest of this weekend.
