Winging In and Sleeping In - The Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs

A seagull wings his way to find some food. (Did you ever know a seagull that didn’t look for food).  Look closely at the top of the pole, see anything?

Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs

This seagull is sleeping in on the pole. Hoping someone at the restaurant below will drop something.

Sleeping seagull

Does this underscore the different methods of obtaining what you desire?

We can focus on what we want or we can wait for it to happen.

Which one will you choose?

Good Morning Toni, what thought provoking post! Unlike seagulls, we would starve if we wait till someone throws some food our way..

Hi, Toni...great pictures. I tend to take the more active approach to everything in my life. Have a great day.

Toni- good Monday morning thought provoking post.  I have to agree with Beth, we'd starve if we had to wait til someone throws food our way.

Toni - good analogy: do we wait for something to be "dropped" in front of us, or do we actively seek....hmmmm...something to think about today.

Hi Toni.

On a recent trip t Florida, well not that recent back in 2005 My son Clint Jr and I had a men's holiday. We got to fish the gulf from Tampa and get to feed the seagulls that ate from our hands. They are not shy about wanting to eat . Not at all.

Have a good day and week in Trinity, Florida.

Best, Clint McKie

Toni-Seagulls aren't shy at all when it comes to food. They will even get into the garbage that is set out at the roadside.  Not my fav bird

Hi Toni, great metaphor-I tend to like to swoop down into life and go after what I need, but sometimes it works to passively let the Gods take over!

Yes, Beth, we don't get handed much in life.

Debbie - that's the good way.

Kathy - we sure would!

Thanks, Carol. It is something to work out.

Clint - we can always tell who the tourists are: they are the ones with 100 seagulls flocking around them. ;)

Roger - thank you.

Jeanne - they can find food anywhere and they can fly!

Sharon - they are interesting to watch and have amazing networking abilities.

Joanna - there are times when it is better to be passive but most of the time we need to swoop.

Toni,

Funny enough, I was watch seagulls swooping around yesterday at the beach...They also go after each other, if one has snagged a morsel of some sort...Have a great week, A

Toni, That is a great post!  To be honest, it depends on the day.  I know that I should have a sharper focus, but there are days when I am content to be more passive.  Great shots and post!

I've had a few relatives like that. . .LOL  I'm smiling at Larry and Sheila's comment #18.  And while I agree with their sentiment, I must also note that as focused as we may be, there are folks who can sit around on a pole waiting for leftovers, and are just as fat as the rest of us:-)
