AIRBUS Ground-breaking Ceremony

What an exciting day for Mobile Al and the surrounding areas. The AIRBUS groundbreaking Ceremony was held at the Brookley field aerospace facility today 04/08/2013. The first speaker hit the podium at 10am with enthusiasm and humor.

 It was a beautiful sunny yet blustery day, as the political figures, county officials, many dignitaries, and  business and local people filled the huge white tents set up for the airbus groundbreaking ceremony. The pretty young ladies known as the Mobile Southern Belles lined the walkway in their colorful gowns, as the crowd entered the facility, they also kneeled and bowed as the CEO and President of Airbus walked by. The great sounds of music playing in the background were coming from a group known as Excelsior Band from Mobile Al originally formed in 1883.

The AIRBUS groundbreaking ceremony had several individuals speak briefly about their involvement in the eight years it has taken to get to this point.  One of the highlight speakers was an eighth grader who spoke about her generation and future jobs for her and her classmates.

The first AIRBUS assembled in Mobile AL is expected to take off from the Mobile Brookley field is scheduled to taxi down the runway in 2016.
